Performance Brokerage Services, North America’s highest volume dealership brokerage firm, is pleased to announce the sale of Young Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Young GMC in Burley, Idaho from Spencer Young of Young Automotive Group to Jake Casperson of Mountain West Auto Group.
Founded in 1924 by Seldon “Jack” Olsen in Morgan County, Utah, Young Automotive Group is a fourth-generation, family-owned group with more than a century of history. The company began its expansion under Sam Young in the 1980s, followed by the leadership of his son, Spencer Young, Sr., in the 1990s. From 2011 to 2014, Young Automotive Group more than doubled in size from four to nine locations, during which time Spencer Young, Sr., stepped down as President and named his son, Spencer Young, Jr., as his successor. Since then, the group has expanded to over 30 locations, operating automotive, powersports, and truck & trailer dealerships across Utah, Idaho, and Montana. The group’s growth and success have earned recognition from several business and industry publications, including Utah Business’ Fast 50, MountainWest Capital Network’s Utah 100, and ranks #124 on Automotive News’ Top-150 Dealership Groups.

Mountain West Auto Group began in 2017 when Jake and Becca Casperson launched a vehicle import and wholesale business in Logan, Utah. The company expanded into retail operations with the opening of its first independent dealership in 2021, and entered franchised dealership ownership in 2024 with the acquisition of a Ford and Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership in Preston, Idaho. With the acquisition of Young Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Young GMC, Mountain West Auto Group now operates four franchised dealerships in Idaho.
Young Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will be renamed Mountain West Burley Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, and Young GMC will be renamed Burley GMC. Both dealerships will remain at their current locations.
