As a dealer for over 29 years, selling your dealerships is a very emotional decision. It affects many employees and their families, especially those who believed in you and your vision. When I decided to retire, I wanted to find a broker who had the experience, the connections in the industry, and the empathy for the decision I made. I found that person in Paul Kechnie from Performance Brokerage Services. Paul not only found an extremely qualified buyer in Gregg Young of Gregg Young Automotive Group, for both of my stores, he also found the right match of cultures and integrity that I was looking for. Paul had the expertise to navigate and close the sale to the benefit of both the seller and the buyer. I would highly recommend Paul Kechnie, as he is a true professional and a great person!
Our team at Fox Motors greatly appreciated the professionalism and diligence exhibited by the Performance Brokerage Services Team on our recent acquisition of Kia North of Grand Rapids from Liechty Auto Group. This new dealership is an important addition to the Fox Motors portfolio, and we give credit to Performance for making it happen. From the moment the Performance team presented us with this opportunity, we knew we were in good and capable hands. Working with Paul Kechnie, Mark Shackelford and Mark Shackelford, Jr. was a pleasure. We look forward to working with their team again in the future.
I met Paul Kechnie of Performance Brokerage Services a couple years ago and we have since become friends. My store was not for sale, but I told Paul if the right conditions and right buyer came along, I would keep an open mind. Paul delivered. Even when it seemed to fizzle out, Paul kept the train on the tracks, kept everybody focused and calm, and consulted like a friend. The closing went smoothly, and Paul’s buyer was respectful and good to work with, but this deal never would have happened without Paul.
I met Paul Kechnie a few years ago when he was traveling through Minneapolis. When I came to the decision to sell my dealership, I felt Paul’s experience as a former New Car Dealer and as a dealership broker would be a benefit in finding me the right buyer for Main Motors. Paul was able to connect me with a few buyers that were qualified; ultimately, I felt the Mauer family were the perfect fit. I found Paul to be knowledgeable, professional and ethical. In my opinion, the best combination to handle your life’s work. Thank you for all you do, Paul.
I want to thank Performance Brokerage Services for all the hard work they put forth in the completion of our buy/sell with Duell’s Evansville Kia. Specifically, the efforts by Paul Kechnie and Mark Shackelford made the process smooth, transparent, and led to the successful transition between companies. As you know, there are many hurdles to overcome during a buy/sell. Manufacturer applications, asset purchase agreements, property inspections, as well as daily communication between parties are all intricate parts of a successful change of ownership. Paul and Mark provided regular updates, necessary access, and completed requests in a manner that kept the transaction private from frontline dealership employees. Handling sensitive information is vital in a buy/sell, and they did it successfully. Lou Fusz is poised for future growth, and we look forward to working together with Performance Brokerage Services on future transactions.
Paul Kechnie from Performance Brokerage was great to work with through the entire process. We had one deal fall through previously, but Paul said he would find me another one. We closed on it mid April. Thanks Paul!
