Performance Brokerage Services, the leader in dealership buy-sell activity, announces the sale of Sutherlin Nissan of Fort Pierce, Florida from Sutherlin Automotive Group.
Sutherlin Automotive Group was founded over 50 years ago by George Sutherlin, a pioneer in the automotive industry. George Sutherlin built an impressive automotive empire in his tenured career, owning over 60 new car franchise automotive dealerships. The group currently operates seven locations across the southeast.
George Sutherlin’s son, Brett Sutherlin, has taken over the family business as owner and CEO, carrying on his father’s legacy. Brett’s lifelong passion for the automotive industry combined with his education in Automotive Marketing from Northwood University, has amassed over 26 years of expertise in automotive and digital marketing.
Sutherlin commented, “Having recently acquired a Subaru dealership through George Chaconas of Performance Brokerage Services as a buyer’s agent, it made sense to engage him to market and sell Sutherlin Nissan of Ft. Pierce. George was the consummate dealmaker and professional to manage the process and sale! I look forward to working with George and his team to buy more car stores!”
Over the last 5 years, Performance Brokerage Services has advised on the sale of over 300 dealerships, making it the highest volume dealership brokerage firm in North America. In 2022, the company consummated 92 transactions, marking a record-breaking year. George C. Chaconas, Senior Partner and Courtney Bernhard, Partner of the Southeast Office for Performance Brokerage Services, were the exclusive advisors for this transaction.
Chaconas remarked, “It was an honor and pleasure to exclusively represent Brett Sutherlin of the Sutherlin Automotive Group to facilitate the sale of Sutherlin Nissan to a growing automotive group that I have helped to acquire three dealerships over the last several years. I want to thank Brett for the opportunity to be of service. Our team looks forward to working with the Sutherlin Automotive Group in the near future!”
The dealership will remain at its current location at 4815 South US Highway 1 in Fort Pierce, Florida and will be renamed Nissan of Fort Pierce.
Brett Sutherlin was represented by J. Gregory Humphries and J. Cameron Katz of Shutts & Bowen LLP.
